“Women in workplaces — and in many other places, well beyond science labs — are often subjected to sexual harassment and way worse than that. Usually, this entails males harassing (or worse) females, in turn involving men doing so via a position of authority of some sort. I [Hall] have long been aware of such situations: I read, AND I have had personal knowledge of those odious scenarios [when I was employed at Brandeis U]. I have registered, in turn, that those males have usually ‘gotten off:’ 1. She-said//he-said situations, involving only one oppressed female + one abusing male. 2. These tough-to-investigate situations all too often involve employers (tacit supporters) of the accused males. So typical outcomes: slaps on the wrists (at best) of the abusers. Now, if ‘Me Too’ might mean that a given accuser/abuser situation (just a pair of persons) COULD/SHOULD promote actions whereby ADDITIONAL harassed (or worse) females come forward. Good! The implication would be, righteously, that the ‘alleged’ abuser must confront accusations entailing a PATTERN of abuse... in that such odiously interacting males indeed tend rarely to ‘do it only once’. “ - Jeffery C Hall
